GE GE® ENERGY STAR® 27.0 Cu. Ft. French-Door Refrigerator

Nice design for our second refrigerator. Good features.

The refrigerator has performed as expected. The only thing I would improve is the handle on the freezer drawer keeps coming off. They need to put a set screw in the handle which just slides on to hold it in place.

We upgraded from an older Whirlpool model that was supposedly less cubic feet than this GE model. We opted for no door water/ice dispenser because, kids. First off, it is SO NOISY. The freezer makes a very loud whirring sound that you can hear in the next room over when it is cooling. Speaking of the freezer, the handle was super hard to install. So much so that it scratched the finish but still pops off if you pull on it the wrong way. The way the top drawer is designed to fit into the bottom drawer is kind of strange.. so they both pull out together but to push the top drawer back in it has to pop back up onto the tracks so that makes it super noisy when pushing the upper drawer back in. Next, I have the upper fridge set to 39 but it still freezes things that are in the back of the fridge. The cheese/meat drawer is super shallow and the fruit veggie drawers don't seem to hold that much either. We eat a lot of vegetables but I don't have enough space to store them, especially because it the fridge freezes things. The instructions were not really clear as far as water line installation. Luckily we were able to figure it out but we cannot be the only ones who struggled with it. The internal water dispenser is ok, the button is really hard to push and the flow is very slow. We don't even use it, to be honest. In conclusion, I am not really all that happy with it. If I could return it, I would. It is pretty and makes my kitchen look great. But that is about all it has going for it.

My husband and I have wanted a GE Fridge with a bottom freezer for so long, and we finally pulled the trigger and purchased one. The freezer is HUGE compared to a side-by-side! And it's beautiful in our kitchen! We trust the GE product more than any other company. (I'm so excited about our new fridge!)
