Does the job, but poorly designed and expensive

i bought this cable because i'm risk-averse and the cable that comes with the frame isn't in-wall rated. the whole point of this tv is to make it look like art so i didn't want a cable to show. anyway, it is thick. the fiber optic part is about the thickness of a pencil so it doesn't fit into the channel in the back of the tv. it pushes your tv that much further out from the wall. your tv cannot lie flush with the wall anymore. pretty disappointing because it ruins a bit of the illusion. the wall plates and portion that goes in the wall work well. if were to do it all over i think i would run a thick conduit that could fit the fat end of the original cable through the wall instead of using this. it's also way too expensive. but hey, at least i can sleep easier knowing i'm up to code.

i asked three different samsung techs at different times and all said that the cable that comes with the frame is safe to use behind walls. here it is claimed it is against the building code. so, why selling an expensive cable when it really is not necessary. btw, nowhere in the frame manual it is even stated once that the cable that comes with the frame should not be used behind walls. so i have to assume this is a big rip-off at more than $220.

well it works as so far it sends power, and input signal, but install wise it has been horribly designed. the in wall cable is as thick as a 10 gauge extension cord, and very ridged. where it exits the wall, it is so thick that it cant even be pressed into the channel on the back of the tv. there is no where to coil the extra and get the tv to lay flat, so you are forced to put spacers. and per the instructions you run it out the bottom of the tv , but then what? you have a wall box showing. the way this should have been designed is to have the thick cable act as a sheath, with the thin wire able to slide through to pull out the slack. this way, any slack can be concealed with the main box, and other equipment. wall boxes should be "old work" style.
