KitchenAid KitchenAid® 15'' Automatic Ice Maker - Black-on-Stainless

We bought this for our newly constructed house that closed in mid December 2018. Within the first 2 months we noticed our hardwood floors buckling beside the kitchen island on the side of the ice maker. Opened the door and the ice maker had shut off and the ice was now water. When the ice maker was pulled out there was water all in the bottom of the base of the unit. The cardboard backing was soaked. Apparently issues with the defrost cycle and the motor to drain water. Builder doesn’t want to touch it because the Appliance company sent out tech who could not determine leak. Tech declined to put unit back under island countertop because of liability issues. So we’ve gone a month now without an ice maker. We still have damaged floors that are brand new. No one wants to take responsibility. Whirlpool wants the defective parts and estimates and basically wants us to do all their work for them to prove something is defective. Very dissatisfied with product and customer service with issue that developed so soon.

Best tasting ice that is well formed and crystal clear!

We have had this unit about 2 years and I recently had to replace the sensor that shuts off ice production so it does not overflow. Now went to get ice and there was no ice and it was extremely hot inside. Poor product for almost $2,000

Installed for a month and makes ice at fast rate. Users love size and shape of ice.

The black stainless steel finish looks nice in a modern kitchen. The quantity of ice is nice, but the machine itself is frequently making noise.
